Boxing Day Shopping Trip

Alla and I flew into Heathrow on the 26th of December, we flew in from Holland where I was working.

The purpose of the flight was so that Alla could do some shopping (boxing day sales) and we returned to Holland on the same day. I had to go back to work. Image

Because we were not staying in the UK no address was entered, on the UK immigration card, the immigration officer looked at card and asked "Why is there no address?
I piped up and answered we are leaving this evening, we have only come for the Boxing Day Sales and muggins is going to have to pay for the shopping, the immigration officer looked at me, smiled and said "No comment" stamped Alla's passport and that was it job done.

Note:
In saying this, just because we sailed through UK Immigration (this time) it does not mean that anybody should rest on their laurels.

It is best to be properly prepared for UK Passport Control.

The only fly in the ointment was that the London Underground decided to go on strike on Boxing Day and it made travelling around London very, very difficult.

On a very different note.
Alla and I would like to thank our "Taxi Driver" who accompanied by his beautiful wife picked us up from Heathrow and delivered us into central London.

Mr "Taxi Driver" you know who you are so a great big Image from Alla and me.

Dear Yannis and Hanna,

We greatly enjoyed meeting the both of you and we will be forever thankful to the both of you.

As you know you saved us a lot of hassle because of the strike by the London Underground employees. In fact had it not been for your very, very kind offer the whole trip might have ended in a disaster.

BUT ImageAs usual I have a bone to pick, the bone this time is that you could at least have let me pay for the Image.

Now you must take into account that:
  1. I do not get mad, I get even.
  2. Revenge is a dish best eaten cold.
    • I do not get mad I get even.
      • I do not get mad I get even.
  3. He who laughs last laughs longest.
    • Revenge is a dish best eaten cold.

Even taking the soon to be fulfilled act of revenge it does not mean that Alla and I are not extremely grateful for your help.

Mark,

Image that I did not contact you while I was in the Netherlands but the work was really hectic and the only day that I had off was Boxing Day (the day after Christmas).
I also took into consideration that the "festive" period is normally a busy time for families and I thought it best to just leave it as it was.

The next time that I am working in Holland and Alla is visiting I will try to contact you and we will see if it is possible to meet.

Have a great 2012.
