I have heard good things about Alex from Lugansk and Mila from Kharkov.

Has anyone used a guide?

Please post your story.

Mila is a member of this board and you will find her introduction here:

Personally I have not used a guide to find my wife but other people on this boards may have! [wink.gif]

I know Alex from Luhansk for long time now and found him a good chap.

He has been around for sometime and he offers translation, guiding and other services in his town. Also in his site he is giving some usefull information.

I think one of our memebers, Gary has used him and he found him honest.

That is his own website.......

Hey, nice to meet you all here. Alex from Lugansk is actually me. Yeah, I've been around for a long time and that was really interesting.

I did travel almost all around Ukraine with my clients, mostly Kiev, Kharkov, Odessa, Poltava and some other places... Crimea is very nice in summer, Sevastopol is a great city and if you rent a car that makes you life much easier.

I will keep an eye on this forum and hope some info I post will be useful for travelers to Ukraine.

PS I made another domain name for my site Lugansk Ukraine Travel Guide which is also active.
I have some plans to make it a social site or something like that.

Hello, and welcome. [hi.gif]
Just a suggestion, why not start an introductory thread?

I have used Zhenia Nepomiaschy from Odessa on my visits to Ukraine in 2010-11, spending time with him in Odessa, Kiev and L'viv. He speaks good English and is 100% honest, knowledgable and enthusiastic. He has worked as an interpreter for several clients from Western Europe and UK. His email is : ........

Contact me if you want to know more. Have fun! Roger

EDIT......for not following the rules

I have used Igor (Stirlitz on many forums) but only as a taxi service.

Based on that experience however , I can recommend him wholeheartedly as a guide near odessa/crimea region
