Hi, just wondering if anyone on here can help. My girlfriend is Russian and i'm a UK citizen and my girlfriend would like to live with me in the UK, does anyone know the best visa to get? also the research that i have done says that i need to be earning a certain amount, but as i'm self employed i do not earn that much. Is there an amount in savings that can be used to prove i can support her in the UK?

Thank you for any help,

Kris

Hello Kris

and [welcome1.gif] to the board.

My wife Hanna, is Russian and we are married 10 years and to be honest I haven't kept up with the latest information from the Home office.

Last time I heard they were asking for £18 200 income a year......

Have you visited their web site to read the latest info?

Have a read around the board and may find useful some posts.

Sorry just back very late from visiting my children.....but tomorrow when I have time will investigate and reply to you again.

Meanwhile tell us a bit more about your story and have a read at this post.

Hi Wiz,
thanks you for that information, i still cannot find an answer on savings and if that can be used instead of proof of income?
We would just like to be together long term in the UK and is getting her CV updated to see if she can find work here. If you find out any more information i would be very pleased,

Thanks,

Kris

Hi Wiz,

thank you for sending me the link, you have a very interesting story.

I met my girlfriend on a dating site 4 months ago. We decided to meet 6 weeks ago after Skyping every night. We staying in Greece for 10 days and we both had an amazing time and we both have the same feelings for one another.
We are now meeting in Paris next week for 1 week and we cannot wait to see each other again.
We then plan for her to visit me in the UK next year and that will give her a chance to see what its like in the Uk, we hope that a visa can be granted and look into work, sponsorship, etc and any other way for us to be together in the UK in the future.

Hi Kris

Welcome to the board.

Nice little story and looks that you are having a good time.

I am sure the more time you spend together the better will become.

Wiz will be happy to know where in Greece to went for a holiday?

Have a nice time in Paris.
